Opera House Memberships help keep our beautiful facility up and running. Our faithful members pay for the heat, air conditioning, paper towels, light bulbs and so many other day-to-day expenses of the Opera House. • The Fairmont Opera House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your membership is entirely tax deductible.
• Your name will appear in the Opera House program booklet.
• Memberships are valid for one year – July 1st to June 30th annually.
• A vote on major decisions at the annual meeting.
• Your entire donation is 100% tax deductible.
The annual Fairmont Opera House membership drive is now in progress!
We are requesting an entirely tax-deductible donation to help defray costs for our day-to-day operating expenses. For 35 years, this beautiful space has been attended by many in our area to enjoy arts and community events. These events include our subscription series performances, concert rentals, dance recitals, our FOH Children’s Theatre productions, Civic Summer Theatre performances, high school plays, orchestra or choir concerts, business presentations, driver’s training classes, receptions, fundraisers, and local church productions. Our Arneson Gallery of Light has also hosted provided many artists an opportunity to display their work.
Unlike most performing arts centers in the state, which are owned and operated by the city government in which they reside, we are a separate, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization with limited funds. It is community-minded people such as yourselves that assist in keeping our doors open for both the entertainment and enlightenment of the community.
In the past year alone we have made some significant improvements. For example, we have replaced all the amplifiers in the sound system, installed six new LED stage lights, contracted with a cleaning company for regular service, installed door stops, added weather stripping, installed a television in the Footlight Lounge, repaired the stage load-in door, and cleaned and reorganized many spaces throughout the building. In addition to these tasks, there is a great deal that must be done on a regular basis to keep this historic treasure in good repair. Please consider making a membership donation to preserve one of the few buildings in our area that is listed on the National Register of Historic places and as one of the top ten places to visit in Southern Minnesota!
Those who stop by for a visit, a tour, a performance, or those national and International artists that perform here often ask us if we really know and appreciate this beautiful space and how truly special it is. This space belongs to you. It is part of your history and culture!
